In September 2021 a team of our volunteers helped out at the St Mikes DIYSOS project supported by BBC Children in Need. The project was to turn 2.5 acres of land into an outward bounds centre for children from disadvantaged homes.
This included the construction of a campsite and adventure playground, kitchen, toilet block, campfire and cycle track.
Transwaste staff cleared the site; chopped down and removed dead trees and dug out a considerable amount of weeds and overgrown foliage.
One of our team members, Graham Wildridge attended an urgent call as they needed someone with a tele-handler licence to operate machinery. We also provided free skips and recycled the contents.
